Why is life so complicated at times .. the funny part about it is that its not but we tend to make it complicated .. anyway so yeah I have come to realize that I need more hrs in the day to finish things I need to finish. One is that I need at least an extra 30 mins a day to blog because as you all have been I have been neglecting my blog :( this makes me sad but non the less I am here now and blogging as I have been. First lets start off with the movie I saw.. Yes in 3D and let me tell you I was sort of un suer about ti only because 3D really screws with my head!

Laura Ling, the sister of former View host Lisa Ling, has been detained by North Korean officials on the border of North Korea and China. According to the AP, Laura, along with another journalist, Euna Lee, were “detained by North Korea for ignoring warnings to stop shooting footage of the reclusive country.”

I am familiar with Laura’s work on the Current TV channel and she was likely filming something for them at the time of her detention. According to the organization “Reporters without Borders,” Ling and Lee were last seen on March 17th and the North Koreans claim that they “illegally crossed into North Korea from China while shooting video along the river.”

I first was alerted to the story on Twitter, where Sherri Shepherd posted, “Lisa Ling’s sister is being detained in Korea - they’re hoping Clinton can intercede - please pray for Laura Ling’s safe return home.”

I am sad to say that today at 3:00pm on OCT 1st Hooper and I finished RESIDENT EVIL 4 on gamecube .. and let me tell you it was soooooooo good!! GREAT GREAT GREAT GAME I MUST SAY .. not only was it good it was sooo intense and the creativity and the animation and the story line were out of this world .. i give it a wow... double wow at that ... I have to tip my hat to the game designers for that game!!

Car Accident

HERE IS A STORY FOR YA!!!! Im at a RED LIGHT .. on 136 and SR 84 near .. SR84 is sort of this road that runs parallel to a freeway .. but it has lights on it .. anyway I am stopped at the red light ... and as I do recall that what people do stop at red lights ... and out of no where this girl slams right into me .. from behind that is ... I had my belt on of course but i was lifted out of my seat and hit the top of the windshield cracking it and also taking the full fore of the hit not seeing it ever coming .. i was like what the hell just happened .. I get out of my car and looked at my car ... not to bad i dont think ... from what I can see at 10:30 at night and of course just the body .. im sure I have damage to the bottom of it as well ...what I did notice was my bumper and my muffler i think my gas tank under the car were busted because gas came out of my car so I know the tank has some sort of damage to it.. anyway I run over to the girls car and notice she has a passenger in it.. for all of you know have been reading my blog a little over a year ago I got into an accident with no one in the van haha long story ACCIDENT IN MAY OF 2007. I run over as she is getting out of her car and ask her if she is ok .. she said yes the passenger who was a male said yes too .. we were all bloody and hurt .. j i look at her car and its F-ered up hahaha I was like wow both her airbags deployed .. in a matter of mins the paramedics came and checked me out .. they told me my blood pressure was up hahaha no shit .. then the guy said i cant believe how calm you are while your pressure is so high .. whatever its an accident .. not my fault so whats done is done .. he smiled ..ps he was cute cute cute .. should have played up my injuries ... then his buddy came over to me and said i was gonna be hurting the next week or so .. i said im ok .. he said your adrenaline is up .. its true ive been in an accident before I know the after effects of the adrenaline rush ... he said no i dont think you understand this woman hit you between 75-90 mph .. i said what .. he said yeah no skid marks at all .. she didnt even break you car stopped her!! I was like wow !!

I still have so much more to this story but you all get the gist of it...got into an accident .. but im ok going for an MRI today because my head is killing me and my neck omg its so swollen it hurts when I swallow .. dude whats up with me always getting hit at a RED LIGHT .. FUCKEN FLORIDIAN DRIVERS ... RED MEANS STOP YOU FUCKERS HAHA!!

This is AWESOME....something we should all remember.

A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with his hair fashionably combed and shaved perfectly, even though he is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today. His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary. After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready.

As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of his tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on his window.

'I love it,' he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.

'Mr. Jones, you haven't seen the room; just wait.'

'That doesn't have anything to do with it,' he replied.

'Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged .. it's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it. 'It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do still work.

Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open, I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I've stored away.

Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you've put in.

So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories!

At times I may feel down, be in a funk, not like something, wanna deal with the stress in my life, even be missing a few things and people in my life, but that is life...its what you do with all it all that defines you!! I am not perfect haha ver very very far from it, I swear by spell check , I make mistakes, I fuck up , and I have my share of arguments and fights with family and friends...but in the past 5 years what I have learned about myself is that we all have a choice..and in life we all have to make decisions.. good or bad we have to make them and then deal with the consequences later on..its life..those are those life lessons we live and learn from! You have 2 choices one you can either except the things that you are dealt with .. or two dwell on the shit you wished you had or are missing!

No one could show me how to deal with fear, judgment , rejection, or even the loss I have encountered the past few years... I had to learn how to deal with it all on my own! Do I have regrets?? Ummm I think in life we all have a few, but those regrets aren't holding me back from living my life they are really pushing me forward to see how far I can fly! I am happy now .. the happiest I have been in a long time! I have friends who for the first time ever I can count on, I have my family who is a pain in the ass but hahaha they are my family and really all I have, I am on a path that I am loving at the moment, but most of all I am free to do what I want to do ... nothing is holding me back or down and that is the greatest feeling in the world! Its my choice to smile every day and be happy and I have made that choice to do so because life is just to damn shit!!!!!

I am a UM fan but my friends rents had extra tixs for the UM vs UF game in Gainesville's so i had to be a gator for a day ... dont worry the entire car ride up north I was supporting UM hahahaha then when I got there I had to change hahaha!! She told her mom I had UM gear on and her mom said " so she has a ticket for the game" ahhhhhh hahahaahahahaha it was funny!!

Hooper had to outline for work and well we were all high tech even able to get online while we drove .. it was great .. brought me back to when I use to travel all the time for work hahaha .. dont ya love her rigging of her outline so she didnt have to hold it .. sun visors are used for more than just the sun!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the joy of having two days off ... that has been I must say a very very very uneventful 2 days off..You would think having two days off in a row would be omg fucken great .. but omg helllllll no .. it sucks when all your friends are at work while you are ummmmm at home watching movies, myspacing , playing damn games that I am now freaken hooked on .. on facebook, and last but not least reading ... ok ok ok so the most eventful and interesting thing that has come out of my 2 days off in a row has been this game on facebook called "BLOXORX" dont even get me started its soooooo fucken cool .. its a block that you have to get from point A to point B haha easy you are thinking hahaha yeah fucken right .. you cant fall off the edge and blocks dont bend to turn haha you have to use your noggin for this game!!

Also this book I am reading .. HOOPER YOU ARE MY GOD FOR INTRODUCING ME TO THIS BOOK!! The name of the book is EAT PRAY LOVE .. haha i know what you are thinking ..ohhhhh lord .. but noooo way .. its more than that .. this woman writter is a genius!!!
Ok so update since I havent posted in the longest time!! My life is on track .. well almost .. after the next 2 paychecks I will be caught up to date on bills and very very very back on track!! Its crazy how one month of no work can set you behind!

Now as for work .. its going really good .. I am working in OUTPATIENT so basically GP (General Practice) but its all good because I usually follow my patients upstairs to ECC (emergence Critical Care) and get to spend time up there! Thats is where I wanna be .. but I have to start off in outpatient to learn all i need to learn before I really get into that mix... I do have to say i am learning a lot .. at times I feel overwhelmed but not bc of the job .. more so bc i dont know as much as everyone else..its sooo different and deff a different path from the film industry so its just starting all over again and thats the overwhelming part .. just trying to learn all the meds and stuff.. its a lot of info .. but im loving it!! I work 4 days and are off 3 days so its pretty cool to actually have a life again!!

As for all else .. everything is going good .. I am planning on moving out of the house in the next few months and into an APT with my DOC friend from the other animal hospital .. so im not only excited about it but really looking forwards on being on my own again!!

Ok so yeah I found this awesome job at an Animal Hospital and then 1 day before my 90 day probation i got let go bc i was singing haha but the real truth behind that was that the receptionist had it out for me from the start because I was so damn fun and everyone loved me haha .. anyway so yeah I get another job at this other vet and dude its so not worth my time typing that mess of a job and or what happened .. lets just say it was as ghetto as you could get .. semi sterilizing needles and also haha ragging on me about using to many of the good medical gloves so they put out these "APPROVED FOR FOOD SERVING" gloves for me to use hahaha

i have nothing more to say about that animal hospital.... WISH ME LUCK I HAVE AN INTERVIEW TOMORROW AT THIS ONE HOSPITAL I HAVE BEEN WANTING TO WORK AT EVER SINCE I GOT LET GO AT THE FIRST ONE..I KNOW IMA LOVE THE NEW ONE .. HOPE THEY HIRE ME ..Hey they say three strikes your out or Third times a charm... ima lean towards third times a charm haha .. its a better position, better pay, better people, no restrictions on gloves haha and ima learn so much more to advance myself so my stoked-ness is sooo high right now!!!

Ok so I went for an interview at this VET place yesterday that turned into a working interview and from what I got they really liked me ... hahaha who dosnt haha .. jk that me being cocky... but no really they liked me and now im just waiting for a call back from them today .. if they dont call me back then ima call them =) just because I hate waiting around for someone to call and I have been all day!!!

I have a feeling I am not gonna like this job at all .. its a GP (General Practice) so they really dont see cool things like my old job in the ER did but hey its a way I can advance from an Assitant to a Tech and then move on back to an ER / ICU setting .. we will see .. i am jumping ahead of myself but from my working interview its the same thing just up to date shots and mild cases for visits.

Ohhhh and for the record the movie Open Water 2 sucked balls .. it was the worst movie in the world!!!!!!!!!!

Its been a crazy rough week and last week a drank my sorrows away hahaha no lie Shelly called me one day to meet after work at DAVIE ALE HOUSE and of course I said sure because we have both been having a shitty week and well i got there before here and asked what the specials were and the bartender said Double Captain Morgans for 3.00 .. yes you read right 3 bucks baby hahaha so that was my drink of the night and let me tell you he made the drinks in a tall coke cup and holly shit it was soooooooooo strong .. i had to put like 6 limes in each drink ... I obliviously couldn't drive home so I went back to shellys house and ended up in her dogs crate hahaha it was crazy and the room was spinning and i have to say im sorry DANIT but the dog crate night at shelly's house deff kills the mattress in the hallway night ... i was 10 times worst her night and i threw up ewwwww haha! Today I got a call back from this Animal Hospital in Hollywood .. its actually our RIVAL hospital hahahaha they want to teach me how to draw blood .. its a big ass step up from the position i was doing at the other hospital .. Shelly says its a good opportunity and me im soooo stoked because I have wanted to learn so much more but they wont let assistants do anything .. now the opportunity came knocking and I am sooo gonna take it ... its a lot farther of a drive but fuck it .. its gonna benefit me .. keep your fingers crossed .. the woman said she is gonna have the TECH supervisor call me tomorrow ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh im sooo excited and I just cant hide it haha!!

WOW .. omg its been one month since I have posted ... what is wrong with me .. its the social life I tell you haha jk just been busy and well its been a crazy week .. hence the reason for this post I have to not only vent but also update you all on stuff!!!

As you all know I have been working at a VET HOSPITAL .. its crazy at times but also fun ... actually my FUN-SUCKER-DAYS were Mon - Wed but my manic fun days were THURS and FRI ... The cool techs work those days =)

Ok so yeah been working there for almost 3 months and well here is my Long story but haha short version ...as short as possible ...Someone upfront who was there last Thursday night who worked the night shift named DODIE (this bitch who is jealous of me and had it out from me bc i was friends with everyone)... and well Thursday night was sort of her sure way of getting me fired because i went up front in the lobby to get water singing Janie's Got a Gun ... ps i went up there rather than all the way to the back bc at night all the lights are off and i am scared and plus the front is a lot closer ....so whatever I sang got water and walked back ...and i was in the hallway talking to a tech (shelly who is in my myspace and the cool Thurs Day) and that bitch dodie who i now call doodoo came to the back telling me i am obnoxious and she almost got written up when she was laughing up front .. and I said ok whatever ... fine I wont go to the front anymore dont make a big deal out of it i didnt know.. she said it was a big deal and then she went into the ICU talking shit and I said out loud to Shelly in the hallway you see there she goes talking shit and running her big fat mouth once again ...about how I am mean to the animals and drag little dogs out the door and are obnoxious .. blahhhh blahhh blahhh .. lies all lies .. i laughed and brushed it off .. shelly was laughing too .. whatever what could she really do ... sooo whatever ... i finish the night off she tells shelly that she needs to talk to her when I leave ... blahhhh blahhh blahhh .. she never did ... but the past few week what I have heard is she has gone up to everyone asking people what they think of me .. omg hello im cool like that people love me .. im a dork i sport VANS i dont care im carefree you know me ... i mother fucker i sing all the time I laugh all the time I dont care what people think... sooooooo yeah whatever she didnt like me for whatever reason ... maybe because she liked as a lover or something .. ewwww gross but maybe ...but i knew she was pissed off I was hanging out with Shelly and a few other techs outside of work and did not like how I am always carefree haha.... and soooooo i get a call from tom (my supervisor) friday morning telling me that since im still on probation ... ONE DAY LEFT MIND YOU TILL MY 90days WAS UP ... tom said I wasnt gonna work out with them and he has to let me go .. i said excuse me .. he said sorry .. i said may i ask why.. he said their was an issue last night and thats not tolerated..I said let me guess was it me singing while I was walking up to the water cooler to get water in the front and then walking back to the ICU .. he said a letter was sent from a receptionist to BETH KIM AND TOM ... and he couldnt do anything about it because it went to KIM (toms supervisor) and beth is the front desk manager and whatever it was a letter that went to everyone.. I said nice .. all the stuff that people get away with and I get fired for singing because Dodie wrote a letter.. he said I didnt say a name ... hahaha omg thats great ... good to know .. lesson well learned.. TAKE SINGING CLASSES AND TRY OUT FOR AMERICAN IDOL NEXT SEASON now that I am unemployed haha jk ... i didnt say that but wanted to .. its not rocket science who wrote the damn letter considering that she was the only one who was up front last night and who didnt like me and had it out for me from the start .. everyone at work knew she did not like me at all ...WHATEVER .. time to go to another VET place .. its a shame .. a real shame because i feel i worked my ass off and always did what i was told.. never complained or bitched about anything ... WOW I feel sorry for dodie (BITCH ASS DOODOO) and i feel sorry for the people who have to work with the people who dont give a shit and who dont do their jobs and who slack all the time .. its a damn shame that they let the good people go but keep the scumbags !!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so working at an animal hospital has lead me down a few new roads in my life. One is thinking more and more about our earth and what we can do to help not only it but also ourselves... hahahaha not truly green but doing things around the house to lessen the electric bill and also bettering my life ... but not only has it lead me down the green road but also down a few other roads such as out ocean .. its crazy because years ago i wanted to be a marine biologist so bad haha that is until i found out they work in a lab most of the time .. then that turned me offffffffff from that career ... but my love for the ocean has never gone away .. i find myself more and more interested in shows about the ocean on the discovery channel than i have ever been before ... i think its because of the new job I have decided to take over .. who knows .. but what I do know is that the other day at work this lady brought up a video on youtube and of course when I got off of work that morning I had to check it out ... after watching it i found myself wondering why i never bought a boat and sailed around the world. Its been a crazy week at work ... slow slow slow with a few burst of craziness lol .. i do have to state that I think its puppy season .. due to the large number of Female pregnant dogs that came into the ER contracting .. the first pup was cool .. i was like omg can I hear the puppies heart beat and feel them in her stomach ... lol .. the answer is no you cant hear the hearts with just a stethacope haha but you can totally feel them .. then we have to set up a little cage depending on the size of the dog with lots of towels and then cover the cage to let her do what she has to do ... it was all awwww sooo cute .. till ewwww her water broke and then she had one pup .. after that it went all down hill for me ... i was like i will sooo passssssssss watching the joy of disgusting birth BLAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH .. so yeah the first dog great awww the next 8 dogs that came in during the week was like shit where do you want her .. lol!! I deicided not to post the pics I took because umm well they were sort of gross and I will spare you all the bloodyness of puppy birth!!

She was in her cage during a fire and she came in 3 weeks ago after the fire for smoke ventelation but after a week of noticing she was acting funny she was brought back to the ICU and the doctors noticed she was cooking from the inside out. She has some burns on her body that they addressed at the time but for some reason dogs over heat fast and that is what happened. They never cold her down they just treated her wounds and breathing at the time. So They had to take away the cooked dead skin and then fix her up.... I was with her when she went under and then when she woke up after surgery. It was sooooo cool and she is such a sweet dog!! Her owners are lucky to have her and to have saved her!

I had to gurney her outside and also muzzle her because she was in pain and hurting so it was mostly for my safety but other than that she was such a sweet heart and also my dog of the week!!

You know every night when I am in the ICU i think of all the losses and all the sad owner and the crazy emergences we have to deal with but at the end of the day we always have one patient who I can look at, smile and say its all worth it!! I think when I cant find that anymore I am done but as look as I can smile and say its all worth it even if it was just one life I got to help or save then I am happy at this job!!

OMG this huge horse of a dog thats weight was 129.4 came in last night because it ate a toy ... so we induced vomiting and no toy came out just like 15 cups of undigested food .. gross ... ok now let me tell you a little about this breed .... at first i thought it was a bull mastiff ... hahahaha nope ... i was wrong ... its called a Perro de Presa Canario or Dogo Canario

Ok so i find out what kind of dog it is and also sense the nervousness in all the tech ... so then i got nervous ... then every time the dog would look at the tech she would look away ... then she told me you can never look this dog in the eyes .. you can never dominate them unless you are its owner .. ummmm yeah while im petting it, holding it , restraining it , and also drawing blood from it with no muzzle on ... wtf is right ... soooooooo no toy came up in the vomit now its x-ray time .. i grabbed a mussel just in cause because i feel unsure now knowing what I knew about it .. dude when i tell you i put the mussel on and then put it on the xray machine the fucker ass dog flipped out .. it took 6 of us to hold this fucker down .. it was crazy ... then after all the struggling I noticed the mussel slipped off .. i was like ohhhhhh my god the tech next to me was like ummmmm ... yeah it was scary ... then I clocked out .... ohhh i forgot the best part ... when we went to lift this horse up it shit all over us ... yeah ... it was bad .... damn dog .. why the hell would you own a dog like that ?!?!

Ok so its no secret that I am working at an Emergency Vet in the ICU as a Vet Tech Assistant...i love and hate the jobs .. its much different from the film industry but somewhat more interesting to me... but with all jobs come good and bad...I have to tell you what happened .. im all wound up and cant sleep .. i went for a bike ride and all and nothing worked... tomorrow i am gonna buy a journal and write it in every night to vent about the crazy nights I have!!

First off I am sort of mad that for the second day in a row i am the only vet tech assistant in the ICU .. no correction in the entire facility on my shift.. ugh .. they wanna cut back on people and save an extra 15.00 but i can not do it alone its to much work and to much of a responsibility i dont want and I will tel you why when i tell you what happened and how careless some TECHS are .. after i state tomorrow I am gonna ask for more money , or one more person to help , or i am gonna give my two weeks because you need two people from at least 7pm - midnight for sure its toooo much !!!

Ok so first off one of my jobs is to walk the dogs ... its all good but it takes time to cap all the fluids and blah blah blah its not just take them out of the cage and walk them no its more than that and sometimes dogs need slings and big dogs need two people omg its crazy sometimes but ok so one of my jobs is to do that.. ok so i had like 15 dogs to walk so i start around 9pm at one end of the ICU to another ... after about the 8th dog I passed this one old dog bc this pup nest to him looked like it needed to pee so i tell the older "ill be back right back for you" ... No lie im walking into the ICU and notice the dog up against the cage i walk closer and and say ... ummm i dont think this dog is breathing ... the doctor yelled wtf....came over started CPR and all that jazz on the dog ... the entire time the doc kept saying good call chrissie good eyes good watching over the animals .. i said she was just breathing it just happened ... omg no lie in a matter of seconds this dog was dead... we did everything we could to help this dog but nothing worked we lost the dog ... now ask me why we lost the dog ... because we were so busy no one had time to put this dog on fluids or give it the blood it needed. Yes it came in for a blood transfusion ... So it was our fault and why was it our fault because they decided to cut the staff including the other assistant who should be working with me!!

My night still hasnt ended ... so im in the back getting some things for the ICU when I get a call over the PA Assistant with a gurney needed STAT ... i haul ass up front with a gurney to find a huge dog having trouble breathing ...the owners are an older lady and a boy who was my age...the dog had a narrow throat and well it ate the other dogs dry food and the food blocked its airway... ok so after 2 hrs if suction and other gross shit we got all the food out and we save this dogs life. All turned out ok for that family and of course they wanted to see the dog so the doc brought them into the ICU and the boy said hi to the dog and turned to all of us in the ICU thanking us for our help...then he looked at me and the VET TECH who went out to get the dog and said

"because of you guys you saved her life .. you save animals... you give them those second chances they sometimes need ... you dont just save animals you save lives ... that is a thank you all in itself ..."

OMG I was like omg this dude is sooo right .. i never thought of it that way ... so we lost a life because we were careless but saved another because its our job... its a win lose situation here! Some techs are mean to the animals ... I have a gentle hand ... some yell at the i pet them and talk to them ... some dont care to change the bedding if they weeeeweeeee but i will! ... they say its because i am new and they have been doing this for years ... i say its because i would want someone to give my animal the same treatment they would want to get if it were them.

I dont know I guess what that kid said just touched me because this dog was not only a dog to him it was a family member. For the first time I let my emotions take over and get the best of me bagging the dead dog but also making sure the one we saved was comfortable .... Its moments like these that make me love this job .. but its moments of losing an animal or a careless owner or careless tech that makes me HATE this job!

Either way I just cant win!!!!!

Ok so update on the job drama ... the 24hr vet sucks ass but for 15.00 an hr I need to suck it up for a few months to learn things and also get ahead with my bills then seeeeee ya later shit hole...ps when i say its a shit hole i mean it .. it sooo crazy how they treat the animals and care for the and the people are sooooo uptight and negative noooo lie when I say shit hole...ohhh and i forgot to mention my hrs are 7pm -2am .. yeah night shift all the way but its all good .. hanging in there is all i can do for a few months .... now on a positive note the second job .. day job the hometown vet right down the street from me is a job i love love love... my first day (working interview) was soooo amazing and the people they are soo interesting and soooo much fun to work with.. i can truly say am gonna love working there .. gonna find out on Thursday if I have the job or not ... keep your fingers crossed people =)!!!

Ok so i have been thinking and thinking and thinking the past few months about the film industry and what I wanted to do other than that ... i have come to the conclusion that the answer is nothing because i love the industry, but I am tired of the long hours, the drives to MIAMI, the travel / living out of a suitcase and the stress from people .... sooooooo i have been on the hunt for a job.. something I think I am not only gonna enjoy but that will also pay the bills =)! After a few months of looking I think I have found something. I applied to a few vet hospitals just because I think I can relate to the people and animals well ... soooo i did that and whooohoohoooo got a call back for a formal interview on Friday from 8am -10am ... im sooo stoked and yeah ok its gonna be less than what I make in film, totally different from the industry, steady and i think its gonna be a fun job... plus no lie its right down the street from me ... 2.7 miles away hahahaha how awsome is that =) !!

ICEHOTEL is situated in the village Jukkasjärvi, 200 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle in Sweden. The heart and backbone is the River Torne flowing freely through the unspoilt wilderness. Covered with a meter thick ice layer winter time the river is the source of all our art, architecture and design. The pure water and the steady movement of the river creates the clearest ice possible.

Construction of Burj Al Arab began in 1994. It was built to resemble the sail of a dhow, a type of Arabian vessel. Two "wings" spread in a V to form a vast "mast", while the space between them is enclosed in a massive atrium. Architect Tom Wright said "The client wanted a building that would become an iconic or symbolic statement for Dubai; this is very similar to Sydney with its Opera House, or Paris with the Eiffel Tower. It needed to be a building that would become synonymous with the name of the country."
The architect and engineering consultant for the project was Atkins, the UK's largest multidisciplinary consultancy. The hotel cost $650 million to build.
Several features of the hotel required complex engineering feats to achieve. The hotel rests on an artificial island constructed 280 meters offshore. To secure a foundation, the builders drove 230 40-meter long concrete piles into the sand. The foundation is held in place not by bedrock, but by the friction of the sand and silt along the length of the piles.
Engineers created a surface layer of large rocks, which is circled with a concrete honey-comb pattern, which serves to protect the foundation from erosion. It took three years to reclaim the land from the sea, but less than three years to construct the building itself. The building contains over 70,000 cubic meters of concrete and 9,000 tons of steel. It is The world's tallest atrium!!!

During the construction phase, to lower the interior temperature, the building was cooled by one degree per day over 6 months. This was to prevent large amounts of "condensation or in fact even a rain cloud from forming in the hotel during the period of construction." This task was accomplished by several cold air nozzles, which point down from the top of the ceiling, and blast a 1 meter cold air pocket down the inside of the sail. This creates a buffer zone, which controls the interior temperature without massive energy costs. Burj Al Arab characterizes itself as the world's only "7-star" property, a designation considered by travel professionals to be hyperbole. All major travel guides and hotel rating systems have a 5-star maximum, which some hotels attempt to out-do by ascribing themselves "6-star" status. Yet according to the Burj Al Arab's official site, the hotel is a "5-star deluxe hotel". It is the world's tallest structure with a membrane façade and the world's tallest hotel (not including buildings with mixed use) and was the first 5-star hotel to surpass 1,000 ft (305 m) in height.

Ok so for a while now I have been looking at this book called the Peaceful Warrior and well low and behold its a movie ... so book 14.99 or movie from blockbuster 4.99....i went for the movie because um this chica has not job and is a little tight with cash at the moment so I rented the movie and started to watch it the other night at 1am ... yes 1am hence no job hahaha ... ok so I watched the movie the Peaceful Warrior and damn it was a powerful flick .. i sort of wish I read the book before I watched the movie .. but whatever i saw it and wow it was amazing ... the quotes the dialog the footage and even the story line was amazing .. you know its movies like these that make me miss the film industry soooooo damn much!!

This extremely rare and beautiful ‘pink dolphin’ was first spotted and photographed by Captain Erik Rue of Calcasieu Charter Service in 2007 during a fishing trip on Calcasieu Lake south of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Captain Rue has seen the albino dolphin several times, the latest being on November 17th, when it appeared to be in good health.

It appears to be an extremely rare albino dolphin, with reddish eyes and glossy pink skin. It is small in comparison to the others it appears to be a juvenile traveling with his/her mother. After spotting the beautiful mammal cruising with a pod of four other dolphins, Captain Rue and his guests idled nearby while watching and photographing the unusual sight for more than an hour.

Albino dolphins, such as the one viewed at the Louisiana shores, are extremely rare. Since 1963, only 14 such dolphins have been viewed, with only three being spotted in the Gulf of Mexico since 1994. However, according to National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) marine biologist Patricia Rosel (currently studying genetic glitches found in bottlenose dolphins), pink albino dolphins are unheard of. Since the first sighting of this dolphin calf by Rue, it has been spotted several times, and Rosel said she is also hoping to catch a glimpse of the calf.

According to dolphin experts, this calf is certainly an albino. While most albino dolphins are white, the warm Gulf waters may be a reason for the pink color of the viewed calf. The calf's pinkish appearance is also likely produced by blood vessels underneath its relatively thin layer of blubber which create a pinkish-red hue that would ordinarily be masked by a typical dolphins gary coloration.

Good special effects and some scary characters put together with great cinematography make this one notch up from a B horror film. Its off the wall edge of your seat thriller but its only the last half of the flick that puts the entire movie together. Sydney finally finds out the purpose behind her peepers. It stops with the digital effects and starts with the real plot,real story and real acting. which is pretty cool.

All-in-all, The Eye is aa good scary movie and film. No blood splatter, flying brains or psycho sex. But lots of good digital special effects and great acting. Also, a pretty good picture of a woman bearing up under the pressure instead of just running to Daddy or Hubbie for protection. Tough choices have to be made. Its a good lesson learned flick.

Also this is one that Jessica went all out on and I must say its a 180 from her fantastic 4 character Susan Storm .. GREAT ROLL AND A 2 THUMBS UP!!

Jan 5th 2005 11:05am ... I remember it like it was just yesterday .... it is a day I will never forget ... a day that can never be erased from my memory no matter what I do or how hard I try!!

My life has been a roller coaster of emotions since I said good bye to mom... actually thinking back on it I dont even think I said good bye just I LOVE YOU .... at first it was the 1 yr mark then it was 2 year and now today its 3 years.. wow it seems like it was just yesterday. Looking back on all of this I really did not think I would get though last year .. i think it was the hardest for me. I had my ups and downs and it was a total roller-coaster ride of emotions because one min I was so happy .. I guess because I was doing something and keeping my mind busy but as soon as I thought about mom I felt guilty that I was having fun and for that on split second I even forget about her ... then I would get sad all over again. I know my mom would not want me to be sad all the time but sometimes I just cant help it..... I kept it in for so long when mom was sick and even after her death i kept so much in. Its nice to finally talk to someone and have them understand not only what I am saying but also my feelings!!

I have been neglecting my blog because I have been well busy but that is gonna change I have to start posting posting posting .. today is gonna be a good post because something funny happened!!

Ok so I have been in training for this LIVESTRONG even that is gonna be in Florida Feb 2008. I had to give myself a goal 1. because I need to start working out like I use to , and 2. well because goal setting motivates me hehehe and when I heard of the LIVESTRONG event BINGO hehehe!!

Ok so this month I am up to biking two times a day in the morning and right before the sun goes down. I would bike at night like I use to but the street path I usually take most of the lights are out so I tend to bike faster harder and well also get scared hehe so I decided to sick with daylight biking hehehe ass crack of dawn and right befor the sun sets =)!!

Ok so I found a training buddy I love training buddies only because they tend to push you ... ok so this was the plan she would blade and I would bike.. lol yeah i know what you are thinking because i was thinking the same .. an easy bike ride lol..so i not only biked twice as long in the AM but also twice as hard because I was like yeah this roller blading thing and bike this is gonna be a breeze... ohhhhh lord ... i dont even know where to start... not only did she keep up with me (and let me tell you I was biking hard) she wanted to keep going when I could not ... i was shocked .. supper dupper shocked... ok ok ok hahaha i know you are saying umm thats not funny ... ok here is the funny part .. i went ahead of her because I noticed the sidewalk was out so I went to bike through the grass to get to the street... i saw this one hole that I hit and was all worried about the water bottles falling and ummm noo water for me means I AM SCREWED .. soooooooo I went to jump that hole and i did but yeah failed to see the bigger hole right behind the one i jumped... just picture this .. a mountain bike .. biking though the grass.. hitting a hole that was ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm no lie 2 feet deep .... me flipping over the handle bars while the bike front wheel stayed in the hold....

Ok so its OCT omg my month my entire month but for some reason... well really reason(S) (MOM DAKOTA JASON) its been the worst , saddest and fucken drama filled month ever.. I am stressed and I am drained and I am so many negative things under the sun....wow when is life gonna get better?? I am so frustrated because I have so much bottled up inside of me that I just need a break...god when am i gonna get that damn break .. i think I am an over all good person ... omg what wow now I am talking to god in this blog when I dont even know what I believe .. ok ok ok so frustration means .... stress ... stress means a late period ... a late period means me unhappy .. me unhappy means crying about everything ... me crying about everything ultimatly means I am missing mom... and missing mom leads to no sleep, funk-o-rama days , and tears ...a rain shower of tears......

SOOOOOOOOOOO MY SOLUTION IS BIKING AGAIN .. ohhhh biking .. ohhhh how much i missed you .. ohhhh how much weight i have gained since I haven't biked in forever .. ohhh the music the work out the wind in my hair ... ohhhhh did I mention how much I ohhh soooo missed biking... ok so my solution is a GOAL... A BIKING GOAL .. even tho I have not been cleared by my docs to bike I think if I take it slow I will be ok .... Its been a few weeks now and everything is going A OK .. (HENCE THE GOAL SET) i am glad I decided to get back on a bike ... ahhhhhh it sooths me soooooooooooo!!

P.S YES THAT IS A CRAZY ASS CUT ON MY LEG THAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY BECAUSE I WAS BEING STUPID AND WANTED TO TRY SOMETHING HAHA YEP MY KNEE GAVE OUT AND PLOP ...DOWN I WENT .. YEAH IT HURTS.. BUT IT WAS A LESSON WELL LEARNED !!
